How to Set Up OpenEmu on Mac with USB Controllers

What You Need

A Mac (macOS 10.14.4 or later), a USB retro controller, and OpenEmu (free download).

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Download OpenEmu from openemu.org
  2. Drag OpenEmu to your Applications folder and open it
  3. Plug your USB controller into your Mac (use a USB-C adapter if needed)
  4. OpenEmu auto-detects USB controllers immediately
  5. Go to Preferences > Controls to verify or remap buttons
  6. Add your game files by dragging them into the OpenEmu window
  7. Click any game in your library to start playing
